The Bush Administration using Propaganda? Say it ain't so!
by Chris McElroy
prop·a·gan·da
n. The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.
n: Material disseminated by the advocates or opponents of a doctrine or cause: wartime propaganda.
n : information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause
Prop-a-gan-dist
n : a person who disseminates messages calculated to assist some cause or some government
First, Iraq and evidence of WMDs which gave Bush the excuse to attack Iraq. That was Propaganda designed to make the public believe there was evidence when there was none. Then propaganda was used to try to connect Iraq/Hussein to 9-11, when even the Pres admitted there are no actual ties there. He still continues to mention 9-11 in the same breath as Iraq so people will confuse the two and believe there is a tie.
Now, from the NYTimes: Federal auditors said on Friday that the Bush administration violated the law by buying favorable news coverage of President Bush's education policies, by making payments to the conservative commentator Armstrong Williams and by hiring a public relations company to analyze media perceptions of the Republican Party. In a blistering report, the investigators, from the Government Accountability Office, said the administration had disseminated "covert propaganda" in the United States, in violation of a statutory ban. Click here to read the article, I'm just too shocked that the Bush Administration may have put out propaganda at the moment to post more of it myself
